Embroidery Specialist: Charlotte McCandless

We are very excited to introduce another long-time member of our team, Charlotte McCandless!

Born and raised nearby, in New Sewickley Township, Charlotte attended Freedom Area School District during her childhood, up through graduation. She would then go on to live in South Beaver Township, where she has resided for 32 years.

Prior to joining Izzo Embroidery, Charlotte worked for Homemaker Home Health Aide. Here she graciously took care of the elderly in their home for almost a decade!

After her time with Home Health, Charlotte then made the transition to become an Embroidery Specialist for us. Day to day, she is responsible for executing the smaller embroidery orders; manning a 2-head embroidery machine, she is constantly exposed to all the designs, their stories, and seeing the process from beginning to end. She has been with us 19 years and counting!

One of the best parts about working in a custom apparel shop is the personal connections you may encounter.

I worked on a full back on a jacket for a Chippewa Firefighter’s Christmas gift from his wife of an old time fire scene. It was one of my first Christmases at Izzo’s. It had lots of stitches, color changes, and took a couple hours to sew. It looked really nice when finished. I guess why it was so memorable was because it was for someone I knew.

While Charlotte is not working her magic, she enjoys spending time with her best friend – her husband – to whom she has been married to for 43 years! Crocheting, reading, and boating are a few of her hobbies; she is also kept busy with her two sons, two daughter-in-laws, three grandsons, and one granddaughter. Charlotte also has a “third family,” as she is a member of the Fire Department, alongside her husband – you could say helping people has always been in her blood!

Please help me thank Charlotte for contributing SO much not only to Izzo Embroidery every day, but for what she and her husband selflessly do for their community!
