Embroidery Store Manager: Gretchen Monac

Izzo Embroidery & Screen Printing is lucky to have a such an amazing crew, and we are excited for you to meet this next woman that does it all!

Gretchen Monac is the Embroidery Store Manager here at Izzo’s. Growing up just down the road, she hails from the New Brighton area. Upon graduating fromĀ New Brighton High School, Gretchen went on to the ICM School of Business. Here, she obtained an Associates Degree in Business.

Having been with Izzo’s for 12 years now, she is always seeing things from different points of view. As Manager, she oversees all embroidery production, as well as assists with customers. One aspect she loves about Izzo’s is seeing how the employees take such pride in their work! This does not come as a shock, as the Izzo team has so many talented employees pushing out orders!

When asked about her most memorable piece that has been created at the shop, she recalls her first personalized order – one that reminds us of the fun that can come out in custom work.

It was a gift for someone’s Grandma, full front embroidery on a sweatshirt – “Grandma’s Crazy Bunch.” Each banana represented a child with a name below the banana. When it was completed I was just as impressed as the customer!

Another favorite thing of Gretchen’s is seeing the Letterman Jacket orders roll in every year. Every custom piece of apparel in the store represents something special, and she likes seeing the kids light up when they see their jacket – something that reflects their hard work and is a huge accomplishment! She enjoys the fact that these keepsakes will be treasured for years to come.

Some fun facts about Gretchen is that she worked for a paper printing company for 2 years. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Mario, whom she has been with since High School; the couple has now been married for 21 years with two wonderful kids, Landen and Lyndsee, both of which are in college. In her free time, she likes attending sporting events and spending time with friends and family.

A day in the life at Izzo’s is always presenting new, fun, yet challenging projects. Thank you, Gretchen, for helping everything run smoothly at the shop every day for both our employees and, most of all, our beloved customers!
